The BAJA CAUCASUS 2022 is an International off road race open for professional and amateur drivers.
A legendary event for human and machinery extreme adventure. A race for the glory. Longest and Toughest desert off road race of the country! Drivers, cars and teams not only compete against each other, but against extreme climates and challenging road conditions. Over 60 competitors from different countries.
BAJA CAUCASUS consists of 5 special and selected stages total 450 km distance during two days. Drivers compete on off-road course and the object is to get from start to finish in the fastest possible time.
The race covers some of the most diverse and challenging terrain in Kakheti region, Georgia. Special stages will go trhough Shiraki Valley Semi Deserts, Chachuna , Iori and Vashlovani Managed Reserves, rocky canyon of Eagle Gorge.
Each driver drives the stage individually with their co-driver – the driver and co-driver are known as the ‘crew’. The co-driver is very much a navigator, who keeps notes and lets the driver know what’s coming around the next bend. The best time wins the stage, and the times from all the stages are added together to determine the overall winner.
The aim of the event is to improve the structure of the rally discipline and encourage competitors to participate in more events. Especially for crews who want to be prepared for Dakar Rally, FIA Cross-Country Rally, Africa Eco Race and etc.
Ceompetition will be held in following categories:
Group T1 – Prototype Cross-Country Cars
Group T2 – Series Production Cross-country Cars
Group T3 – Series Production Side by Side Vehicles (SSV)
All participating vehicles will be equipped with GPS safety tracking system provided by the organisation.
Limited quantity of prepared vehicles and SSVs are available for rent locally.
